This is not a fairytale. I learned that quite a few months ago. Naively, we went into this thinking "Oh! We want to have a baby now" and expected that it would happen because we wanted it to. And, for some that does work. Not for me - or many others like me. It's hard. It's emotional. It sometimes gets the best of you. So, after over a year of trying to conceive and a PCOS diagnosis, I find myself here - trying to believe.

Two A Days

Makes me think about football, hehe. The hubs loves it and I know quite a bit about it. Kind of scary how much. Anyway, what I'm referring to is 2 Metformin doses a day. Sucks. I feel blah. And not hungry. I don't feel sick, I just feel like a zombie.

I hate dinnertime because I never know what to make. And nothing actually sounds good because I don't feel hungry.

Used my monitor for the first time this cycle. Low - as it should be. I temped today, although I'm not sure why I did because hubby decided to let me sleep half the day. Grr.

Chicken Fajitas

This recipe is near an dear to my heart. My uncle showed me how to make these in my great grandmother's kitchen. They were the closest people to me growing up and they are both gone now. But, memories and their yummy recipes live on!

Uncle Marlon's Chicken Fajitas

1pkg boneless, skinless chicken
1 medium onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper, julienned
butter
hot sauce
Worcestershire sauce
salt
pepper

1. Boil chicken until done. Using two forks, pull the chicken apart into shreds.
2. In a skillet, melt butter at low-medium heat {at least 1/4 cup-you will have to judge the amount, and usually add more later, too} and add onion and peppers.
3. Saute the onions and peppers until onions are caramelized.
4. Add chicken.
5. Cook on low heat, adding Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce sparingly until desired flavor is reached.

You now have your filling! Grab a flour tortilla and spoon some on, top with gobs and gobs of sour cream. Maybe some rice and refried beans on the side? Yumm!

I used to like photography.

Well, I still do like photography, just not so much the people. I guess some of it's my fault for being too nice, although I am still awaiting a print order for a Christmas session (o.O) that just seems like I'm getting screwed. So, from now on every client will sign an agreement because apparently professional/common courtesy is a thing of the past. I'm tired of working hard on taking/editing these pictures and then waiting and waiting. I had planned on ordering my new phone today, but since not one but TWO clients {who both told me yesterday they would be by today with their order and $} were no-shows, I can't. So, yeah it probably made me a little more pissed off than I normally would be, but I think that's good.

I'm tired of being the nice little doormat.

PCOS Strikes Again

So, my youngest SIL was Dx with PCOS today. Her numbers were a little worse than mine. I feel bad for her. She's only 21. But, then again, I wish I had known about mine earlier. She has the same doc and med as me. So, at least I can help her with understanding some of it. It just sucks. I hate it and I hate that someone I love has to go through it. Blah.

CD1

It was a 31 day cycle. Not too shabby un-medicated. I just got off the phone with the pharmacy calling in a refill of Metformin. Time to go hardcore on this. My birthday is Friday. Stupid crap. So I'm ready to kick it in high gear. This cycle: Temping and charting, Metformin, diet and maybe even a little exercise, Preseed, OPKs, CBEFM. Whew!! That should work, right?

My Life Through Pictures: Day 1: Me

Day 1: A photo of yourself with 10 facts.

This is me. (in desperate need of having something done to my hair I might add)

  1.  I'm a Pisces.
  2.  I never get tired of Chinese food.
  3.  I talk babytalk to my dogs.
  4.  The only jewelry I wear on a daily basis are my wedding bands and 4 stud earrings.
  5. .I hate shoes and socks. I love being barefoot or in flip flops.
  6.  I'm not super crazy about chocolate-I't rather have fruity or sour candy.
  7.  I got my wedding dress off eBay. No joke. It had price tags still on it. It was a store sample. Gorgeous.
  8. I will soon be getting my first tattoo! It's being designed by a SUPER talented friend of mine that I met on this TTC journey.
  9. Ooh. Here's a little known one: When I was a baby, I had seizures. I had to go to a major children's hospital, Le Bonhneur in Memphis, TN to be treated.
  10. I have weird food aversions. A lot of them are texture issues. Such as: I won't eat tomatoes but I love ketchup. I love banana flavored things but won't eat bananas. It's the gooeyness and slimeyness. Ick! My noodles have to be al dente and not overcooked. When I make cereal, I don't pour the milk until I am ready to start eating, because if it gets soggy-it's going in the trash. Yeah, I need therapy. Lol.
